Direct Elections in Egypt

I love discussing politics. I love getting together with my family. It is a large family with lots of cousins and uncles and kids and friends. It is also a family dominated by lifelong liberals. They are all the typical Bush hating, UN loving, diplomacy supporting liberals. I spent better than 4 hours discussing world politics, education, healthcare and economics with "proud liberals" at this party. I was also outnumbered at least 4 to 1 on every topic. I was subjected to the predictable arguments. "Bush squandered a $10 trillion surplus." "Bush is not spending enough on education." "The solution to 45 million uninsured is national healthcare." "Bush lied about Iraq to go to war for the oil." "There are not now any WMD's and never were any AMD's." "Bin Ladin is still alive." "America must appease the rest of the world so they will stop hating us." "Imperial America has no right to demand countries face preemptive attacks for supporting terror." I've heard all these tired arguments before. The argument that got me the angriest was "the U.S. and the world in general, is more at risk today because of our foriegn policies than before 9-11." To me this is absolutely preposterous. I argue that we are beating terrorism on many fronts. Al Queda is in shambles. Bin Laden is holed up trying to stay alive. We have liberated Afghanistan. We have liberated Iraq. We are forcing many nations to confront the terrorists and terror supporting institutions within their borders. We are spreading freedom and liberty throughout the middle east. The dominos are starting to fall. All to no avail. To the "proud liberal" America is still the root of all evil in the world. So this morning I wake up and open my local newspaper, The Denver Post , to read Eqypt will be having its first direct elections ever! Wow, really great news. I wanted to link to this article but could not find it at the Denver Post online. I was able to find a link to the story here. This raises the question of bias in the main stream media. But, I don't want to get into that discussion here. The question I have for all the "proud liberals" out there is this, would Eqypt be having direct elections if the U.S. had not liberated Iraq? If Egypt is having direct elections for the first time ever, Is America at more risk? Face it folks, We are winning the war on terrorism.

Eason was bad for CNN. CNN has enough troubles holding audience without the america-bashing of its top executive

TheLeft is in deep trouble!

There won't be a lot of discussionson this subject on leftie radio next week.American Prospect Online - ViewWeb. This is an example of the real issues we are beating them on. a little window into real liberal values"To be sure, they oppose the privatization of Social Security and support the provision of universal health care, and every poll shows that the American people back their positions. But on a broad range of economic matters, Democrats have alarmingly little to say to working-class Americans. For the past 35 years, as short-range share value has come to dominate our form of capitalism and the burden of risk has been shifted to the individual employee, far more manufacturing jobs have been sent abroad from the United States than from any other advanced industrialized nation. As the middle fell out of the economy, the Democrats advocated job retraining and, eventually, some form of managed trade, but these policies were too little and too late."

Investment Letters and Scott Ritter

Can somebody please tell me why an investment letter would use an unsubstantiated comment by Scott Ritter Commentary / ASK Researchin its postings. I listened to Ritter answer softball questions on liberal radio on monday. He stated that the Iraqi elections were manipulated by the U.S. authorities and based this accusation on pre election predictions by the shia mullahs that the shias would garner 60% of the vote. Some strong evidence to base an accusation on. Ritter then goes on to claim he knows that president Bush has signed off on an attack on Iran in June. Based on what? Unnamed sources. Face it, Scott Ritter is a fraud. He most likely received money from the oil for food scandal to help the Hussin regime. He is now gearing up to sell a book and needs the media coverage to make more money. This guy has mastered the Michael Moore methodology for spreading lies for proffit. Still the real question is why would an investment newsletter pass this on to its readers? You make the call.

Awesome Day

What a beautiful day it was in the Rocky Mountain West. The Environmentalists have finally convinced me that global warming really does exist. This has been one of the fairest winters I have experienced in many a year. Today was a great day (65 with blue skies) to take the kids, and dogs, for a walk to the lake. I am thankfull for all the exta carbon dioxide polluting the atmosphere, produced by the greedy american capitalists, that afforded me the oportunity to enjoy some quality time in the sun. In 20 years I'm sure I'll also be able to thank the greedy Chinese capitalists for the same thing. Progress!

Good news is bad news

Doom and gloom, doom and gloom. Typical crying from the american left Statement of Scott Lilly on the January Employment Situation - Center for American Progress. The markets loved the fact that productiviy was down, that inflation is managable, and Greenspan sees progress on the debt situation. Lower productivity is good for someone who wants job creation. I Knew it was going to be a good day on the markiet when CNBC rolls out Robert Reich for commentary on the newly released jobs report. Just another Clinton moron.

**** testing **** HughHewitt.com Just trying to link for the first time in my blogging career. Just thought it should be to the guy who introduced my to the blogosphere about 30 months ago (as you can see it took a while to finally participate). Hugh, you have the best or 2nd best radio show on the air. I love the show, the format, and consider it to be an opportunity to learn something each time I listen. David Drier is easily the best 10 minutes in radio. May you have a very long and profitable carreer. I'll be there Dave

Bowling and the nanny state

What have they done to the good old fashioned bowling alley? Today I had to pick up a kid at the bowling alley and was blown away by the great new feeling. Did you know that you can not smoke (cigarettes) withing 35 ft of the front door of the building. Just read the sign. Smoking is only allowed in the lounge! Remember the days when you could go to the bowling alley and have a good time. Maybe sit with your friends and toss back a few cold ones and light up a smoke. We'll not any more. If you need that nicotine fix, head your butt up to the lounge. That's where all you loosers (who as of January have to pay an extra 50 cents a pack tax, so some beaurocrat can claim to insure some unisured kid, or just line the coffers of the states general fund) are relagated to, so that the rest of us will not get sick. I can still sit around the scorers table (automated scoring machine) and have a beer or other adult beverage, and I can breathe in the Ozone they're pumping in through the "clean air machine" and have myself a grand time. My concern is something that smells as bad as the air that ozone machine is pumping out cannot possible be good for you. Thirty years from now some lawyer will be advertising for a class action suit against the ozone manufacture. Hopefully I'll still be alive to collect on that one.

State of the Union.

11:13 mst The whole evening went exactally as expected. The president laid out a program that should make most conservatives happy. The Democrat response, if we agree to work with the left they will work with us. Problem is, conservatisim just won an election with a majority in both houses of the congress and we also won the presidency. I think that means we set the agenda and democrats can either come along or they can obstruct any progress we want to make. Please try and obstruct. Come 2006 we will have a supermajority in the Senate. Then we can really put the screws to you screwy democrats. You think its a nightmare now. Michael Savage would be able to propose legislation and get it passed.

A brave new world!!

Just me and 40,000 other people joined the blogosphere today. Yeee haaa!! I have been wanting to do this since election day 2004. So now I will ramble on: Its a great time to be an american, and even a better time to be a conservative american. My party is in power for the first time in my lifetime, and should stay in power for the rest of my lifetime. Why? The left can't accept the fact that the country has been trending to the conservative side of the scales for at least the last 20 years. Since they won't accept the the truth, they cannot make appropiate adjustments. They continue to move to the left thinking that's what middle america wants. Wrong! only the hard left wants what the democatic party has to offer. Bring on Howard Dean. Bring on Hillary Clinton. Energize your base and send the rest of the country to the republicans. Thanks to the blogosphere, talk radio, and especially Rush Limbaugh for starting it all, I now have a voice! The13thfloor is my voice. The mainstream media no longer controlls the flow of information. The country is no longer under a haze of misinformation. I can spread the word as easily as the New York Times. Hopefully I can influence the world someday, and if not the world, at least my own little piece of it! I Love the 21st century. .
