This is the real solution to the Terry Shiavo issue.
All day long the drum beat pounded on. The only issue of the day was the Terry Shiavo right to life or right to kill issue. The right, the left, the religious and the secular, the loon and the sane, everyone had an opinion.
The answer and hopefully the route most thinking folks will take, is to establish a Living Will. Apparently the constant drum beat has motivated many people link here to make the big move. By executing a living will, you can make your choices clear to the world and leave no doubt as to your wishes. In my case, the wife would want to live under any circumstance, and I would rather have whatever organs haven't been destroyed by over use distributed to more deserving individuals. The beauty of the law and the American way of life is you have an opportunity to make your own choice.
Now absent a living will, the decision should always be for life. Precedent set no more arguments. What's so ridiculous about the current situation is the parents want to keep Terry alive. What does the husband lose if he gives Terrys' parents guardianship rights. What kind of man chooses death when he has the opportunity to wash his hand of the whole situation. He can move on to his common law wife and 2 kids and let Terrys' parents love and care for his wife. What does he gain by having her killed? If you can give me the moral answer to this simple question, I can be persuaded to change my mind.

Fear mongering and bad science
Peddling propaganda on the front page above the fold Rocky Mountain Newsl has used what I would charactarize as iffy science at best and outright lies at worst to spread fear thoughout the land. The same people who cannot accurately predict the weather for tomorrow are now going to tell me what the world will be like 50 to 100 years from now. Using computer models, we can conclude that the ski industry in Colorado will be dead within 50 to 100 years.
Give me a break. Stick with the forcasting the snow accumulations in Winter park for tomorrow. Please let it be over 4" so I can have some powder to play in.
